Hockey is not just a game, it's part of our Canadian culture. People are passionate about 'their' hockey team. It's also big business. So when four famous NHL'ers and their business partner wanted to purchase the Kamloops Blazers, they needed to convince the community, media and fans that new ownership was a winning formula.
In 2006, when this group tried to purchase The Blazers they were “driven out of town” when their offer was interpreted as a hostile takeover of a community asset. In 2007, they wanted to try again - and they hired Communication Solutions to help them succeed.
Designed to demonstrate transparency, change opinion, maximize the power of inclusion and influence people's actions, our campaign “Kamloops Wins!” convinced the current owners, community, media and fans to support new ownership.

Sold! On August 23, 2007, 76% of Blazers Society members voted to sell the team to our clients. This campaign was voted the 2nd top news story of 2007 by Kamloops Daily News readers.
