How can we promote our event?

By Making it Impossible to Ignore 

The Kamloops Indian Band hosted a high-profile, premier event on First Nations Good Governance – an issue of national interest.  They needed to strategically position the event to secure registration among key First Nations leaders in BC.

Communication Solutions used a Macromedia Flash video and pre-registration direct mail postcard to position the event as a national "must attend" conference on Aboriginal governance best-practices. Potential attendees were invited to opt-in for email updates via a dedicated conference website which contributed to a major increase in the Band’s database of potential registrants.

Results 

The Symposium was considered a notable success for the Kamloops Indian Band, attracting admired speakers, First Nations leaders and media from across Canada.  Indian and Northern Affairs Canada later contracted Communication Solutions to create an interactive CD containing the Flash video and all proceedings from the Symposium for distribution to First Nations Bands throughout British Columbia.
